Hakan Uraz joined the REM Consult team in late 2016. Since then, he has accompanied various projects and given partners assistance with their applications for the Interreg V B Baltic Sea Region Programme as well as for the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon2020. Hakan has acquired skills in project management, financial management and public relations through many years of experience in developing and coordinating international projects in the private sector as well as in various public programmes, among which Interreg V B, TEMPUS and GIZ can all be counted.
Hakan holds a Bachelor’s degree in social economics (B.A.) with a major in labour, finances, and economics at the University of Hamburg. In addition to this, he completed an undergraduate programme in business and finance at Northumbria University in Newcastle, England. In winter 2011, Hakan earned a postgraduate degree in European Studies at the University of Hamburg. During his studies he took part in an Erasmus programme at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. He gained valuable professional experiences abroad at the UN Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva and as project coordinator at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. In addition, Hakan is also a certified Project Management Associate according to the IPMA-Methodology. He applied and made use of all his experiences as a project manager when returning to Hamburg as a consultant for public organisations as well as for private companies.
