RUMORE fosters rural-urban cooperation through improved regional innovation policies and instruments. At this point, the project is at the transition from its first, exchange and strategy phase to the implementation-oriented second phase. At the occasion of this milestone, the project organises a public conference on 22 October 2019.<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1557319141678{padding-top: -10px !important;}”][vc_column_text css_animation=”none” css=”.vc_custom_1570569880090{padding-top: -10px !important;}”]RUMORE (\u201cRural-Urban Partnerships Motivating Regional Economies\u201d) enhances the delivery of innovation by improving innovation chains between rural and urban stakeholders and by supporting the better use of synergies between urban and rural areas. RUMORE facilitates the better implementation of regional development and innovation strategies and e.g. of cluster policies of the participating regions. The project is about to proceed from the first to the second phase: In the first phase, the partner organisations in the six RUMORE regions developed action plans with concrete suggestions for policy improvements. In the second phase, these action plans will be implemented in the six RUMORE regions to allow for improved regional innovation chains through targeted support of rural-urban partnerships.<\/p>\n

Therefore, one of RUMORE\u2019s project partners – the Office for Regional Development L\u00fcneburg – will chair the \u201cPhase 1 Closing Event\u201d from 22 to 24 October 2019 in L\u00fcneburg<\/a>. The event is a mix of conference, interregional learning event and study visit, as well as a partnership internal working session. It aims at sharing results and getting to know more ideas for innovation and rural-urban cooperation.<\/p>\n

On 22 October, the public conference takes part, among the guests and keynote speakers the Minister for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development of Lower Saxony (Birgit Hon\u00e9), the Commissioner for Regional Development L\u00fcneburg (Monika Scherf) and Jakob Richter from the Metropolitan Region Hamburg. The audience will learn inter alia about the project results and recommendations, and about insights from the OECD Territorial Review of the Metropolitan Region Hamburg. The 23 October will see a study visit through L\u00fcneburg region, including learning and discussions at innovative stops such as the start-up and innovation centre ISI Buchholz, the fruit-growing centre Jork with related institutes, the world’s first hydrogen-powered passenger train and bottom-up rural-urban initiatives. 24 October is reserved for partnership internal issues in the famous Libeskind building of Leuphana University.<\/p>\n

Besides project partners, target groups of the event are stakeholders from the partner regions as well as further innovation actors from different EU-wide institutions and networks. REM Consult organises the conference together with the hosting project partner and moderates parts of the event.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
