{"id":6352,"date":"2020-01-11T23:37:23","date_gmt":"2020-01-11T22:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rem-consult.eu\/?p=6352"},"modified":"2020-01-11T23:41:48","modified_gmt":"2020-01-11T22:41:48","slug":"circ-nsr-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rem-consult.eu\/en\/circ-nsr-approved\/","title":{"rendered":"Approved: North Sea Region Circular Economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1578778731397{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3>We congratulate the partnership of the approved project \u201cCirc-NSR\u201d and wish them success in their endeavours \u2013 namely improving the framework conditions and governance mechanisms for Circular Economy in the North Sea Region.<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On 18<sup>th<\/sup> December 2019, the Steering Committee of the Interreg North Sea Region Programme <a href=\"https:\/\/northsearegion.eu\/about-the-programme\/programme-news\/five-new-projects-on-board\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">approved five new project applications<\/a>. One of them \u201cCirc-NSR \u2013 Improving Governance for the Circular Economy\u201d. On behalf of the Danish client Business Region Fyn, REM Consult supported the consortium of Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch and German partners in the development of the project and the application.<br \/>\nThe North Sea Region (NSR) as a powerhouse of Europe still generates and consumes a large share of its economic performance unsustainably. However, there is a chance to turn the NSR\u00b4s economic and innovative strengths into a greener direction \u2013 in line with a vast number of frameworks and objectives, from the UN Sustainable Development Goals to the EU2020 Strategy. One critical approach to become more sustainable is the transformation towards a circular economy. Making this transformation happen and disseminating approaches for \u201chow-to\u201d is thus at the core of the project.<br \/>\nThe partners implement pilot activities \u2013 e.g. for waste, circular procurement, greener tourism and capacity building \u2013 and especially will improve the governance structures in their regions.
