Interreg Seed Money and Extension Stage projects approved: In mid-June, the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme has decided to approve new projects. Seven of them were supported by REM Consult. Congratulations to all successful applicants!<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6573″ img_size=”full” css=”.vc_custom_1594209131350{padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The funding period 2014-2020 is in its final stage. Now, the Monitoring Committee of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region approved the possibly last wave of projects. We are glad to have contributed to seven great ideas.<\/p>\n

Seed Money<\/h6>\n

Just now, 37 Seed Money applications were approved<\/a>. Seed Money Seed Money is provided by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme. It supports the preparation of projects in line with the Action Plan of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR). While funding is provided by the Baltic Sea Region Programme<\/a>, the partners prepare project proposals for a funding programme of their choice. Of course this includes the future Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme (2021-2027), but also Horizon2020, Erasmus+, ESF+ and others. Of the 37 approved applications, REM Consult has supported five. They address different topics of the EUSBSR. This includes the \u201cPolicy Areas\u201c Education<\/em>, Hazards<\/em>, Energy<\/em> and Culture<\/em> as well as the \u201cHorizontal Action\u201c Climate<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Extension Stage<\/h6>\n

Moreover, 17 applications for Extension Stage projects were approved<\/a>. In short, Extension Stages extend both the time and scope of existing projects. The Baltic Sea Region Programme invited projects of its second call to apply for an extension. As a result, the selected projects will be extended by another nine months. We supported two projects. Both were approved and both are related to energy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To begin with, Energize Co2<\/sub>mmunity<\/em> establishes six community energy projects in different countries. Community energy is a tool to increase the share of renewable energy production. Moreover, it contributes\u00a0 to a more decentralised energy supply. A core element is the involvement of citizens and further stakeholders in the financing and decision-making processes.
\nThe other project, AREA 21 + Action,<\/em> fosters cooperative energy planning on an urban district-level. The predecessor project Area 21<\/a> developed the so-called \u201cEnergy Improvement District\u201d concept. As follow-up, AREA21 + Action<\/em> will focus on the implementation of strategies developed in the previous project.<\/p>\n
