Funding Guide for Wadden Sea World Heritage – now online
Finding and acquiring suitable funding can be a complex and time-consuming process. A new systematic analysis by REM Consult in cooperation with Dr. Cormac Walsh now gives a comprehensive overview of third-party funding opportunities specifically for projects related to the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea.
The Wadden Sea Funding Guide is intended to support the broad spectrum of organizations and actors involved in the trilateral partnership for the promotion of the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea in the use of national and international funding opportunities and thereby reduce the increasing complexity of the funding landscape. The publication was created as part of the Interreg North Sea project PROWAD Link on behalf of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park Administration and with the support of the Joint Wadden Sea Secretariat.
The Funding Guide covers five themes that are closely related to the trilateral partnership: nature conservation, sustainable regional development, international cooperation, education and interpretation, and governance and brand management of the World Heritage Site. Based on these topics and in accordance with the funding-specific requirements of the partnership, potential European and national funding programs and other sources were analyzed and summarized in factsheets of the respective funding opportunities as well as in a general matching with the main topics of the partnership. überführt. The overview contains information on relevant Interreg programmes, Horizon Europe, LIFE, Erasmus+, EMFAF and EAFRD, as well as numerous national and sub-national funding opportunities in Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany.
In addition, for four specific themes – sustainable tourism, energy transition, climate change adaptation and ecological corridors – scenarios are discussed that show possible matches between the program priorities and potential project goals and activities of the trilateral partnership.
