Katharina Nora Paetz

Project Manager

Katharina Nora Paetz joined REM Consult in February 2024 as project developer and –manager. Her core expertise is climate change policy (greenhouse gas mitigation in agriculture, renewable energy, ocean governance) and international climate finance. Katharina holds a Master in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin. She worked mainly in international settings: as researcher (Berlin / Cape Town), as political adviser for an international environmental and human rights NGO and she was with two international climate finance programmes (GIZ GmbH), implemented for the German Federal Ministry of the Environment and further international funders.

Katharina has a track record of successfully managing international stakeholder processes. For instance, she guided a group process leading to a new evaluation and learning approach for the Mitigation Action Facility with input from major climate finance bodies and funders that is currently being applied by an international consortium for 30+ evaluations.

Katharina is an expert for international climate finance mechanisms, bringing together her experience with technical proposal assessments for the Mitigation Action Facility (desk and on-site e.g. in Peru, Colombia, Tunisia) and conceptual and institutional insights gained during a two-year expert collaboration on transformational change led by the World Bank Group. She thrives when she applies her strong analytical and strategic skills and taps into her creative potential.
