VASAB Vision 2040 – Baltic Sea Region-wide online workshop successfully completed

On 16th May 2022, the German VASAB chairmanship invited to a BSR wide online stakeholder workshop during the update process of the VASAB Long-Term Perspective for the Territorial Development of the Baltic Sea Region (LTP). Among others, the workshop participants discussed the potential regional and local impact of the updated vision. The aim was to show ways in which a wide variety of institutions can finally contribute to the implementation. Another topic for the workshop was the role of VASAB in the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).

Around 40 actors participated in the online event, prepared, moderated and documented by REM Consult in coordination with the German VASAB chairmanship and the VASAB Secretariat. The outcomes of the VASAB Stakeholder workshop on the draft VASAB Vision 2040 are available at the VASAB website: https://vasab.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Minutes-of-VASAB-Stakeholder-Workshop-on-draft-VASAB-Vision-2040-on-16-May-2022.pdf.

The stakeholder consultations for the draft VASAB Vision 2040 are still open and written feedbacks are kindly welcome via online survey or in an email by 15th July.

The Federal Institute for Building, Urban and Spatial Research (BBSR) has set up a model project for regional development (Modellvorhaben der Raumordnung, MORO) that accompanies the updating process and involves stakeholders who can contribute to the exemplary implementation of the LTP. As part of this project, the team from REM Consult supports the German Presidency in its projects. You can find more information about the MORO here.
