Hauke Siemen joined REM Consult as the first permanent staff member in 2008, working with founder Markus Lang in the development and coordination of EU projects. He assumed responsibility as Managing Director of the Hamburg office two years later. In 2016 Hauke became part-owner of “REM Consult Lang + Partner“. Hauke’s expertise lies mainly in the area of project development and planning as well as in drafting successful funding applications. In addition to this, he has many years of experience in management of EU projects, in facilitating transnational project events and coordinating public relations. Hauke‘s main fields of interest include demographic change, social innovation and the marine environment.
Hauke studied history, economics and political science in Kiel and Göteborg. He specialised in modern history of the Baltic Sea region during his studies, which is also the topic of his ongoing PhD research. He made his first acquaintance with the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme during an internship at the Joint Secretariat in Riga and has stayed attached to transnational cooperation in the Baltic Sea region ever since.
