Creative Ports – Internationalisation of CCI

Creative Ports supports the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) in their internationalisation, contributing to a better exploitation of the CCI’s economic potential.

Cultural and creative industries are an important driving force of the economy, enhancing innovativeness and stimulating (youth) employment in the Baltic Sea Region. The CCI sector includes many different branches, including audiovisual industries, design, art, fashion, media, publishing, games and tourism. However, most CCI enterprises are small- and medium-sized and often have limited international business capacity and lack the networks required to access international markets. Furthermore, CCI support organisations often lack the capacity to promote internationalisation. As a result, the potential growth of CCI sector remains untapped.

The aim of Creative Ports is to foster international business opportunities for cultural and creative industries, improve policy instruments, and increase the capacity of CCI supporter organisations by sharing internationalisation tools and providing learning opportunities. The project brings together 14 partners from eight countries: Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Russia. Public authorities and business support organisations, cultural institutes, and universities cooperate to exchange and pilot internationalisation support tools, set up a durable CCI secretariat, develop learning modules from the experiences, and create an online platform.

The project was approved in September 2018 in the 3rd call within the thematic priority 1, “Capacity for Innovation”.  REM Consult has already supported the Lead Partner, Goethe Institute, in the project development and has been contracted to provide project and financial management.
